Important Programming Considerations
1.Location
- Community center, school classroom or multi-purpose room
- Must be safe, clean, and easy for children and parents to access
- Kitchen space must be available if serving hot foods, and dishwashing and cooking equipment is essential
- Must meet local health standards
2.Parents
Need to be involved in all components of the program
3.Volunteers
- Essential to keep the operational cost for a program to a minimum
- Students can also be volunteers
- Ask senior citizens and local community groups to help
- Local caterers, chefs or cooks
