Bowden Grandview School

To thank our volunteers for our school nutrition program, we had a pizza party.   We handed out awards (some were donated by a movie theatre in Olds) to the top 5 volunteers that had a range of 295 to 375 volunteer minutes throughout the school year to date.  Then we had some other items for door prizes - I think we drew about 8 names out of the pail that the invitations were put into.  We gave a treat, an Eat Right, Be Bright wrist band and a BFL Survivor game to all of the other students.  For each of the adult volunteers we gave a thank you card, BFL pins to the appropriate volunteers and a small gift certificate.
We also handed out the BFL wrist bands to all the Kindergarten and grade 1 students, and sent home a 1/2 page notice about the program to all the Kindergarten students.
We set a limit that to get invited to the volunteer party the students had to volunteer a minimum of 60 minutes of combined time.  Here are some photos of the program in action with some of our great volunteers.
